Pros and cons of Marine Rules & Signals app for iPhone and iPad
Marine Rules & Signals app good for
Awesome program, its really the complete package. Great for reference and studying. Would recommend to the pros and user friendly for the novice.
Its very excellent programs for study & upgrade your khowledge.
Just what I needed as a recreational sailor/cruiser to keep current on the forgettable details of mute seagoing communications. Very handy to have on the iPhone. Uncluttered and accessable program without over-ambitious (cumbersome) menu navigation.
Its a good app. I am in the coast guard and its good review and good for teaching new younger seaman. Just be aware that nav rules do change and you must keep updated yourself.
So far it looks really good. It nice to have this app so I can study for my captains license.
Some bad moments
Very little information in this app. I hope a future update will correct this. Not worth .99 cents as it is!
This app is lacking some of the most important rules and the user interface is confusing and not well thought out I hope to see an update for this app soon because as it stands now it is not worth the money by far this version should be free considering the amount of information it has.
I am a naval navigator and noticed that there are many mistakes in this program. Unfortunately the rules are written by a bunch of lawyers so as the average sailor cant break the code easily. With this in mind it is very important to understand the rules VERY concisely which this program does an exceptionally poor job.
As an addendum to my previous comments above, please note things precisely whereby a vessel is not over 50m by virtue of the lights it shows, it actually mean that the vessel is "possibly over 50m" these kind of elementary mistakes on the rules are not excused until fixed - please fix them, or at least get a proper interpreter of the rules before release of your next version.
its not worth the money you pay! just to expensive for what is offering..
Very simplistic and hard to view images since you cant enlarge them. Extremely disappointed for the price. Wouldnt recommend. Spend the money to buy a book on the topic.
This app is totally overpriced. It should be free. Info is very simplistic and general info that every boater should already know. Def not a good reference unless you are just looking up flag signals.
